Happy 2010!  We hope this is a great year for everyone!  There are many new and innovative products entering the market this year, and we want to be on the leading edge!  Each month we will offer a "Deal of the Month" and give our customers the opportunity to make special purchases at great prices, and as always, with the value added of personal service, before, during and after the sale.

We're starting the year off with something brand new:  Aquavitro Salinity.  We've been eagerly anticipating the release of this product, as have many of you.  We're pleased to offer it as our January Deal of the Month!  Our supplier will be the first in the United States to receive this product, and we are pleased to be among the first to be able to offer it to our customers at a great price!

Aquavitro Salinity

 Aquavitro Salinity is a blend of salts specifically formulated for the reef aquarium that contains all essential major, minor, and trace components found in natural reef waters, but contains no toxic or non-essential components.  Additionally, Salinity is the most concentrated salt blend on the market.  With a hydration level of <0.5%, Salinity will yield a greater volume of prepared saltwater at a salinity of 35 PPT per unit of weight than any other salt currently on the market.

 Salinity is identical to the distribution of anions and cations found in Natural Sea Water (NSW).  Seachem has compiled data from all the oceans and seas on Earth, and has targeted the midpoint of the range for each element.  Salinity is guaranteed to be within +/- 3% of the midpoint.  For example, at a salinity of 35 PPT (specific gravity of 1.025), for calcium, magnesium, and strontium Seachem has determined the following targets and ranges:

Calcium: target 422 mg/L, range 409-435 mg/L

Magnesium: target 1336 mg/L, range 1296-1376 mgl/L

Strontium: target 8.4 mg/L, range 8.1-8.7 mg/L

Alkalinity and pH values vary widely over the Earth's oceans.  Salinity will be within the following ranges:

pH: 8.4-8.6

Alkalinity: 3.2-3.8 meq/L

HERE'S THE DEAL: We are offering Salinity at the introductory price of only $69.99 per bucket.  One bucket will make 225 gallons of new salt water at 35 PPT or 1.025 specific gravity, or 270 gallons of new salt water at 27 PPT or 1.020 specific gravity.  Compared to other brands' yields of new salt water, Salinity is more concentrated.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:  This offer is valid from Saturday, January 2, until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010.  We will be placing 2 orders, so if you miss the first one, you can still get in on the second one!

All orders must be pre-paid.  Orders received by Tuesday, January 12th at 12:00 noon, are expected to arrive at our shop and be available for customer pickup after 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 14th.  Orders received by Tuesday, January 26th, at 12:00 noon, are expected to arrive at our shop and be available for customer pickup after 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 28th.

Please note:  As of the publication date of this newsletter, our distributor has not received the product, although it is now being offered in their catalog. It is expected to be in their warehouse before our first order is placed.  In the event of any unforeseen delays, orders will be filled in the order we received them, as soon as product is shipped to us.  I have been working closely with Seachem staff and my distributor to ensure that are orders are filled as quickly as possible.
